If you are a hotelier and are preparing for the up and coming busy period, then you are possible considering changing the beds within your hotel or guest business, then here are a list of benefits that a contract zip and link contract bed could provide.
The sizes are generally manufactured as a King or a Super King with a length of up to 6’6’’. Super King tends to be the most popular, as this will create two single beds when separated giving the occupant more room.
Using what we call linking bars they connect the bases at the foot and head end keeping the two bases secured. The mattresses are joined using a heavy duty zip which you cannot feel, resulting on a restful night’s sleep.
There a many base design such as platform or on legs, with or without storage drawers, available in a wide section of fabrics and colours to suit your in-house décor. The mattresses tend to be a pocket spring design offering the utmost in comfort and support for your guests.
This design is ideal for Hotels, Guest Houses and B and B’s who require the flexibility of creating a number of sleeping and room options to gain more revenue within their business.
FAQ – Can I still use a headboard on a Zip and Link Bed?
Yes you can, what you would need to ensure is the bases can accommodate two separate headboards either 2 x 2’6’’ for a Kingsize or two 3’0’’ designs for a Super King. So when the beds are split you have an individual headboard for each bed.
When Goodenough College looked to refurbish London House, Bishops Beds were a natural choice as the main supplier for quality bedroom furniture and mattresses. We worked closely with the college alongside the architects, designers and builders involved in the project; our teamwork ensured huge successes for all involved.
Prior to the installation, the protection of the beautiful, 100-year-old wood flooring was paramount. Over 300 bedrooms were installed with specially designed metal skid beds. These featured oak veneer surrounds and matching headboards, completed with high-spec orthopaedic mattresses and side-wall supports.
The range of furniture used includes A-frame desks and drawer pedestals, with various drawer-chest options made available to Goodenough College for them to choose from. Operator chairs were fitted with varying castors and feet depending on the floor type, all of which were manufactured to Goodenough’s exact specifications.
Communication was essential with the building contractor for the deliveries and installation days throughout the project. Overall, this gave us the privilege of working with one of the UK’s most prestigious postgraduate facilities, and we were proud to offer Goodenough College the best in contract furniture from Bishops Beds.
We are very happy to announce that we have been selected as the Official Supplier to the Birmingham Jamaica Track and Field Pre Olympic Training Camp.
Back in February, we received an email from Birmingham University asking if we would like to sponsor and be bed suppliers for their Olympic visitors.
We deal with Birmingham University as one of our customers and when we got the email about sponsoring, it became clearer that it was to supply them with extra-long beds for athletes.
We recently received a call from Birmingham University to say that a mystery athlete wasn’t happy with his bed and it was all stations go for our team on night shift to get a new, and firmer, mattress made and back to Birmingham the next morning.
What we didn’t expect was that the athlete that was struggling to get a good nights sleep was none other than Olympic Gold Medal winner and record breaking Jamaican Sprinter – Usain Bolt.
